July 30, 2010 (by Horatio Algren) According to reports one person is missing after a Turkish tour boat caught fire in the Mediterranean.
According to Turkish officials the tour boat Kayhan-9 was on its way from the Turkish resort of Marmaris to Fethiye on Wednesday night.
The boat caught fire forcing eighteen tourists and five crew members to jump into the water before it was engulfed.
Rescue boats evacuated the tourists and crew members that jumped into the water from the ship, while the Turkish Coast Guard searched for the missing person identified as being Spanish.
Mehmet Ali Karatekli the governor of Fethiye stated that two Portuguese and one Spanish citizens were injured. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
